Internal Family System (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate, non-pathologizing therapeutic approach that appreciates all the parts of you. It views the mind as a system of distinct “parts,” each with its own unique perspective and role. These parts can interact harmoniously or experience conflict, leading to internal struggles. IFS values each part of you; the parts that help you to cope with the pain, the parts that protect you for additional pain, and the parts that hold the pain.
Central to the IFS model is the concept of the Self, a core of compassion, confidence, and calm that guides the healing process. Together, we'll work to notice how these parts are active in your life, appreciate their intentions, and offer them support if they're open and willing. Supporting you to move from internal conflict to a more harmonious internal relationship, allows greater connection within yourself and with others.
